Philea: The Four Loves
.In the four loves, Lewis parallels the experience of David and Jonathan in the Bible- among other ancient texts - describing deep friendships between two people. He stated, "to the Ancients, friendship seemed the happiest and most fully human of all loves; the crown of life and the school of virtue. The modern world, in comparison, ignores it".

These companionships grow from a deep appreciation for one another and and forged in vulnerability and laying ourselves bare in front of one another.
